Omdurman National Bank Signs SDG 50 Billion Agreement with Kassala State to Fund Major Development Projects

In the presence of Kassala State Governor Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohammed Azraq, Omdurman National Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government to finance major development projects worth SDG 50 billion, to be implemented in multiple phases.
The agreement was signed by Professor Abdelmonem Mohammed Al-Tayeb, the Bank’s General Manager, and Mousa Mohammed Oshiek on behalf of the Kassala State Government.
Professor Al-Tayeb explained that the first phase of the agreement covers the paving of 10 kilometers of roads, while the second phase will focus on supporting health and education services. Subsequent phases will include additional development projects across Kassala city and other localities in the state.
He further noted that Omdurman National Bank will participate in the state’s agricultural finance portfolio as a lead partner, funding solar energy initiatives for the agricultural sector. The bank aims to expand its financial services across all localities to promote economic and social stability in the region.
During the visit, the bank’s delegation also toured Kassala University, where they met with Professor Amani Abdelma’rouq, the university’s director, who praised the bank’s contributions and services in the state. The program additionally included a visit to the Central Bank of Sudan branch in Kassala.
The visit concluded with a reception dinner hosted by Asaad Adam Nafi’, Manager of the Kassala branch, attended by government officials and business leaders. The delegation also visited New Halfa, meeting with key clients including Yashfeen Hospital and Ayouda Multi-Activities Company, where branch manager Younis Bostan Abdu organized a special welcoming event in their honor.
