Sudan Police Seize 550,000 Captagon Pills, Arrest Five in Sennar

According to official police reports, Sudanese authorities have dismantled a major drug trafficking network in Sennar State, seizing more than 550,000 Captagon pills and arresting five suspects.

The operation was carried out on Saturday by a joint force from the Anti-Narcotics Department and the General Intelligence Service, following accurate intelligence about an incoming drug shipment. The team set up a tight ambush that led to the interception of a truck carrying the Captagon pills inside Sennar, believed to have entered Sudan from a neighboring country.

Police sources confirmed that all legal measures have been initiated and the suspects will be referred to court under Sudan’s anti-narcotics laws.

Authorities described the bust as one of the largest Captagon seizures in Sudan, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Sennar and strengthen border security against international smuggling operations.

This latest crackdown reflects Sudan’s broader campaign against organized crime networks involved in the production and distribution of Captagon in Sudan, a drug that continues to pose a growing threat to public health and national stability.
