Joint Forces Reject Ceasefire Without Militia Withdrawal and Accountability

The Joint Forces supporting Sudan’s armed struggle movements declared their firm rejection of any ceasefire or so-called “humanitarian truce” unless armed militias withdraw from major cities and those responsible for atrocities are held accountable.
In a statement released Saturday, the Joint Forces expressed deep concern over ongoing calls for a ceasefire amid what they described as continued war crimes and massacres committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of El-Fasher, North Darfur.
The statement warned that any truce not conditioned on militia withdrawal, civilian protection, and justice for victims would merely “whitewash violence and allow aggressors to reposition under the guise of peace.”
The Joint Forces reaffirmed their commitment to protecting civilians and urged the international community to take decisive action regarding the escalating humanitarian and security crisis in Darfur, particularly in El-Fasher.
