France Condemns Ethnic Atrocities by RSF in Darfur, Urges Immediate Ceasefire in Sudan

French diplomatic sources confirmed that Paris has strongly condemned what it described as “ethnically motivated violations” committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan’s Darfur region, amid a sharp escalation of violence following the fall of El Fasher.
In remarks carried by Agence France-Presse (AFP), French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said that France is “deeply concerned by verified reports of atrocities committed against tens of thousands of civilians,” stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire between the warring parties in Sudan.
Barrot stated that France views the ongoing events in North Darfur as a grave breach of international humanitarian law, urging that those responsible be held accountable and warning against expanding military operations into areas sheltering displaced civilians.
According to information obtained by Al-Rai Al-Sudani, the French Foreign Ministry praised U.S. mediation efforts, describing coordination among key international stakeholders as “a crucial first step toward ending Sudan’s deepening crisis.”
Official statements from the French Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that Paris will continue to support international initiatives aimed at protecting civilians and stopping hostilities in Darfur, which is currently experiencing one of the worst waves of displacement and violence since the war began over a year ago.

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I’m very glad to see such magnificent info being shared freely out there.
