Classes Resume Sunday in River Nile State After Suspension Over El-Fasher Events

The Ministry of Education in Sudan’s River Nile State has announced the resumption of classes across all primary and intermediate schools starting Sunday, following a temporary suspension declared in solidarity with the situation in El-Fasher.
According to the state’s Minister of Education, the first intermediate grade will resume a week later, while all other grades will return to normal classes beginning tomorrow.
Classes in River Nile State had been suspended earlier by the state government to express solidarity with the people affected by recent events in El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.
The minister expressed hopes that the coming academic year will be marked by stability, strong performance, and academic excellence, underscoring the government’s commitment to maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment.
